Cognitive Behavioural Therapy                             ( C B T)

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a talking therapy where the therapist and client work very closely together. It focuses on how you think and how this impacts on your emotions. CBT works in the present not the past. In order to get a thorough overview of your problem the therapist will collect information from you and identify triggers for your problem. Together a treatment plan will be developed to help you change your negative thinking and behaviour which in turn can change the way you live your life. The ultimate aim is to give you control over your thoughts and help you reclaim your life. Understanding how your mind works and how this impacts on your life can be liberating. CBT also works on goals, what do you want to achieve? How do you want to progress? Goals assist with recovery.

CBT is effective for anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, social anxiety, agoraphobia, anger issues, bulimia, OCD, bi-polar, post traumatic stress and more.

CBT tends to be brief, usually 8-10 sessions. You will attend 1 day per week for 60 minutes in my clinic, alternatively remote online therapy can be arranged.
